D4.4a - Scientific paper on the university-industry technology transfer in healthcare industry in China and in Europe (M12)

China’s startling economic growth over the past thirty years has created a demand for
health care that the country will be unable to meet in the foreseeable future. This is a critical threat to China’s economic, social, and political sustainability. On the other hand, Europe and the US have an abundance of health technologies as well as a need for structural adjustment to recover from the 2008 economic recession. This paper will explore possible synergies that can be exploited that may provide mutual benefit to both China, and the US and the EU.
