He studied in Italy, UK and USA. He has worked as international expert for: UNIDO, UNDP, CEPAL, OECD. As visiting scholar/professor he spent several periods of research in USA (University of California Los Angeles) and in China (South China University of Technology, Sun Yat Sen University, Guangdong Government S&T Department).

Reserach interests
He has focussed his research activity on the following topics: industrial sectors analysis, local development, international industry, China economy and industry, Health Industry, SMEs, and industrial policy. In this framework he has carried out comparative analyses referred to Italy, to industrialized countries and to emerging countries. He has actively participated to the debate within the scientific community presenting his works at seminars, workshops and conferences both in Italy and abroad. His list of writings (102) includes books and papers that have been published and diffused at national and international level.
