Kim Van der Borght (VUB) is Professor of International Economic Law at the Centre for Private and Economic Law (PREC) and Legal Research Coordinator at the Brussels Institute of Contemporary China Studies (BICCS). He currently supervises a team of five PhD researchers looking into Chinese economic law and China-EU trade relations including topics related to health and trade (e.g. tobacco regulation). He is also Reader in Law at the University of Westminster, London, UK and Occasional Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Georgia (USA) for courses on trade law and EU external relations. He is advising or has advised the Belgian Government (federal and regional) on international trade and the Japanese External Trade Organisation (JETRO). He is advisor to UNCTAD. He is listed on the Roster of Governmental Panellists of the World Trade Organisation at the proposal of the Federal Government of Belgium. He was Visiting Professor and/or Guest Professor at City University Hong Kong, Xiamen University and Tongji University. He was recently selected for the position of Distinguished Foreign Professor at the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (established by the Chinese Ministry of External Trade) for the period 2013-2016.
