On 11th September 2015 Shanghai University of International Business and Economic (SUIBE) hosted the “WTO and the Health: the law and policy of traditional Chinese medicine”
(see at https://www.wto.org/english/news_e/news15_e/chair_11sep15_e.htm) an international conference organized by the aforesaid university in conjunction with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), within the Chetch project, financed by he European Commission (with the 7th Framework Programme - PEOPLE MARIE CURIE ACTIONS).
The conference was attended by professors and researchers of law as well as professionals from research centers, coming from different academic realities both Chinese and foreign.
Among speakers, as part of the legal team of Chetch, took part to the conference Dr. Federica Monti, from University of Macerata (UNIMC), Dr. Cailin Mckenzie, from VUB and Ms SaiSai Wang from VUB.
The aim of the conference was to promote an interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary exchange and to promote policy-relevant and scientifically sound outcomes and recommendations.
Speakers paid their attention to rules and policies related to goods and services, intellectual property rights and investment, under the WTO, with the aim to develop a win-win context for a profitable cooperation between Europe and China in seeking better healthcare solutions.
