Organized by the University of Macerata, the conference has discussed some of the most pressing ethical issues underlying the possible integration of Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has covered a wide range of important topics in bioethics and biomedical ethics.

The morning session has been focused on the public dimension of biomedical ethics and has discussed the role of public policy in the implementation of just health care, through a comparative perspective; the afternoon session has deepened the individual dimension of bioethics and has focused on the relationship between personal autonomy, individual choice, and public responsibilities, with a special concern for issues related to infertility treatments.
